Eric García is always willing to put the team first. Not even the nasal fracture he suffered in Bruges was enough to stop him. Whether at centre-back, full-back or in midfield, with or without a protective mask, the 24-year-old gives his all at all times. So much so that he has started 20 of those 24 matches. Hansi Flick has complete faith in him, and Eric is repaying that trust with consistently excellent performances.

Explosive progress
But Eric's contributions are nothing new. After a year on loan at Girona, Eric gradually became more prominent under Flick over the course of last campaign. In fact, he will finish the 2025 calendar year as FC Barcelona’s most-used player. At present, with Sunday’s Villarreal fixture still to come, he has already played 56 matches, three more than Pedri and Lamine Yamal, who both have 53.
