A significant number reached for Pau Cubarsí today, as he has now made 100 competitive appearances for the FC Barcelona first team. His century came in the Copa del Rey last 32 match against Guadalajara at the Pedro Escartín stadium.
Fate sees the player reach the figure in a very significant competition for him, as Cubarsí made his debut in January 2024 in a Copa del Rey last 32 match, this time against Unionistas de Salamanca. His progress has been outstanding ever since.
Despite being so young, the centre back is now a key cog in defence, being known for his maturity, tactical intelligence, and ability to compete at the highest level, qualities that have helped him make regular appearances in both LaLiga and in Europe.
Cubarsi's 100 competitive appearances have come as follows: 67 in LaLiga, 22 in the Champions League, 9 in the Copa del Rey and 2 in the Spanish Super Cup. He has helped in attack with one goal (the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Atlético Madrid in the 2024/25 season) and five assists.
He has also played a part in collective successes, having won one Copa del Rey, one LaLiga title and one Spanish Super Cup, all in 2025, as well as winning gold with Spain at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
A blaugrana since 2018, Pau Cubarsí was born in 2007 in Estanyol (Girona) and moved to Barça from Girona in 2018 to join the youth system. Seven years later, the centre back continues to progress at an impressive rate and achieving milestones that confirm his brilliance both now and for the future.
