FC Barcelona will open their participation in the Copa del Rei 2025/26 with a round of 16 fixture away to CD Guadalajara, as revealed in Tuesday's draw held at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas.

The game will be played as a single leg, with extra time and penalties if required.

First meeting

This will be the first time that FC Barcelona have ever played against Guadalajara. The club is managed by Pere Martí, formerly of Villarreal, Malaga and Elche, among other teams, and are currently in the third tier Group 1 of Primera Federacion, where they are seventeenth with 17 points. They reached the last 32 by beating second division Ceuta 1-0.

Barça's title defence will open on Tuesday 16 December at 9pm CET, a midweek clash sandwiched between the game at home to Osasuna at Spotify Camp Nou in La Liga on December 13 (6.30pm CET) and the visit to Villarreal on December 21 (4.15pm CET)

FC Barcelona are hoping to extend their record haul of Spanish cup wins, which currently total an impressive 33.
