Today was a very special training session for FC Barcelona. This Friday, the men’s first team exercised for the first time at the new-look Spotify Camp Nou, in front of 21,795 fans, in what served as an essential operational test to ensure everything is ready for the official return.
All present
The stadiums doors opened at 9.30am, and most of the fans, many of whom has taken the morning off work, welcomed all the players, who arrived already dressed from the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Even the injured players didn’t want to miss such a symbolic moment. The whole squad took to the pitch together for a group photo to commemorate the occasion before the session began.
Eric, with a protective mask
Hansi Flick’s training session lasted around an hour and included all available first-team players except Jules Kounde, who did not train with the group. Notably, Eric Garcia took part wearing a protective mask after suffering a nasal fracture in Bruges. Six reserve-team players also joined the session: Xavi Espart, Diego Kochen, Eder Aller, Jofre Torrents, Dro Fernández and Toni Fernández.
Next challenge: Vigo
FC Barcelona have their eyes set on Sunday’s trip to Balaídos to face Celta Vigo in LaLiga. The final fixture before the November international break is a 9pm CET kick-off.
