Jordi Alba is set to hang up his boots at the end of the US season with Inter Miami, as he himself announced today on his social media accounts. As such, the 36-year-old is bringing a successful playing career to an end, which includes 11 years' service and 19 trophies with the FC Barcelona first team.

In his farewell video, Jordi Alba considered FC Barcelona as the club of "my life". And it's little wonder given that after spending time in the blaugrana youth systems until 2005, the quick skilful player returned to Barça in summer 2012 for what was to become a memorable story.

Great partnership with Messi

Alongside the best players in the world and now his friends – such as Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta and Messi – the blaugrana 18 didn't take long to make the left back spot his own. He went on to form great partnership with Leo Messi and would help Barça become the best team of the decade.

Ninth most appearances

He won 19 trophies in his 11 years in blaugrana – five LaLigas, five Copa del Reys, six Spanish Super Cups, one Champions League, one European Super Cup and one Club World Championship. His 459 appearances places him ninth on the all-time list for Barça, and his final match came on 28 May 2023, when the Spotify Camp Nou gave him the send off he deserved.

Thank you, legend.
