FC Barcelona's opponents in the Champions League
Following the draw today 28 August in Monaco, FC Barcelona now know their opponents in the league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. These eight clubs will face Hansi Flick's team as the 36 teams in the competition battle it out for a place in the knock out stages: Chelsea FC (England), PSG (France), Eintract Frankfurt (Germany), Club Brugge (Belgium), Olympiacos (Greece), SlaviaPraha (Czechia), Copenhagen (Denmark), Newcastle United (England).
Europe's premier club competition will see Barça begin their campaign in mid-September for a league phase that will included four home fixtures and four away fixtures. The final round of matches will be played on 28 January after which the top eight from the league table will move directly into the last 16.
Furthermore, the teams finishing from first to eighth will enjoy seeded status in the competition allowing them to have the second leg of any two legged tie at home.
Four home and away games
The kick off times the for the league fixtures will be released by UEFA on Saturday 30 August. However, we do now know that Barça will face the following four clubs at home: PSG, Frankfurt, Olympiacos, Copenhagen.
Away from home Barça will travel to Chelsea FC, Slavia Praha, Club Brugge and Newcastle United in the league phase.
Yuste: "No easy teams"
First vice president of the Club, Rafael Yuste, gave his reaction to the draw, saying there are "no easy teams", and that team have to work with 'humility to win the Champions League. On PSG and Chelsea, Barça's rivals from Pot 1, Yuste admitted, "We have a lot of respect for the European Champions and the World Champions but we will give it everything and as Hansi Flick says, step by step"
