Christensen, second fastest FC Barcelona supersub in Champions League history

He also becomes the first ever blaugrana player to score a Champions League goal on his birthday

Andreas Christensen had at least three things to celebrate yesterday. On the night of his 28th birthday, he scored the winning goal in Paris, and in doing so became the second quickest substitute to score for Barça in Champions League history.

The record until now was held by Bojan Krkic when he scored just 50 seconds after coming on in what would be a 4-0 win against Stuttgart.

And Christensen also goes down in the record books as the first player ever to score a Champions League goal for the club on the same date as his birthday!

Second goal in the Champions League

That was Christensen's second goal in the Champions League and his first for his current club, the other one having been scored for Chelsea against Malmö.

Martin Braithwaite is currently Barça's highest goalscoring Dane in the Champions League era with three goals, although Michael Laudrup scored four when also counting the old format European Cup. Barça's highest scoring Dane in European competitions is Allen Simonsen with nine, but none of those goals were scored in the biggest competition of all.
