Raphinha redresses the balance

The Brazilian is named MVP against Getafe after scoring a goal and providing an assist on his return to the starting line up after injury

On 13 August, Barça drew 0-0 against José Bordalás' side at Getafe's Estadio Coliseum, a game that saw Raphinha receive the red card in the first half. Six months later the Brazilian redressed the balance, this time at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Returning to the starting lineup after injury, he also scored a goal and provided an assist that saw him named MVP. "I really wanted to play this game because I was sent off in the earlier match this season. I hadn't forgotten. And this was a a special game for me. Winning by a lot of goals is important for the team", explained Raphinha. He went on to add, "I am back after injury and I am happy to be back on the pitch and scoring and assisting. However, the win is the main thing".

The Brazilian played 77 minutes, including scoring to make it 1-0, playing a part in the goal to make it 2-0, before assisting De Jong for 3-0 and no less than Barça's 11,000 goal.

The game showed Raphinha has a role to play, despite being hampered by injuries this season. So far he has played 24 games (18 in LaLiga, 4 in the Champions League, 1 in the Copa del Rey and 1 in the Spanish Super Cup), scoring 5 goals and providing 8 assists.
