Ter Stegen, Zamora Trophy winner for 2022/23

The German keeper concedes just 18 goals in 38 matches, an average of 0.473 goals per game to take the award

It was an award that was coming but after Sunday's game at Celta Vigo it is now official. Marc-André ter Stegen ends the league season as the goalkeeper who has conceded fewest goals in the campaign, taking the Zamora Trophy for the first time in his career.

The German shotstopper conceded just 18 goals in 38 matches, an average of 0.473 goals per game, including 26 clean sheets, equalling the record set by Deportivo La Coruña keeper Paco Liaño in 1993/94.

Furthermore, his average of just 0.473 goals per game is also a record, equalling the marks set by Liaño and by Atlético Madrid keeper Jan Oblak.

First for Ter Stegen, 21st for Barça

The award is a special one for the German as it is the first time he has claimed it in his Barça career since arriving in May 2014. The goalkeeper has been in great form this season and has been key in helping the squad to the league title.

The Zamora trophy is the first for Ter Stegen but the 21st for Barça. Ramallets and Valdés lead the way with 5 trophies each, then comes Sadurní with 3 and Velasco, Pesudo, Miguel Reina, Artola, Urruti, Zubizarreta and Bravo all on one.
