Ansu Fati celebrates 100th game for FC Barcelona

Striker describes his achievement as 'something unique' as he collects a commemorative shirt

Last Sunday at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Getafe, Ansu Fati came on in the 68th minute as a replacement for Franck Kessie. It was a very special moment, because it marked the player's 100th appearance in an FC Barcelona jersey.

It makes him third youngest Barça player to complete a century of games, something that needed to be commemorated, and this was done by presenting the player with a special jersey with the number 100 on the back at training this week, where he was applauded by his coaches and fellow players.

Speaking the media after the presentation, he said "playing 100 games in this shirt is something unique. I am grateful to all the coaches who have given me the chance to play."

Knocking Leo Messi off the podium of youngest players to play 100 games for Barça is quite something, especially considering the times the player has been out through injury, although he still insists that his fondest memories were his first team debut on 25 August 2019 and his first goal, scored away to Osasuna

"I am thankful to the fans who have encouraged me through difficult times" he added. "I will keep working to repay everyone for the faith they have shown in me all year."
