The first international break of the year is here and a number of Barça first team and youth players will be representing their national sides. This is our daily guide to the fixtures as they unfold.

Tuesday, 28 March

Gavi played the last 11 minutes for Spain as they were defeated 2-0 by Scotland in Glasgow in this Euro 2024 qualifier.

Franck Kessie captained and scored for Ivory Coast as they won 2-0 away to Comoros in this African Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Marc ter Stegen played the full 90 minutes for Germany, but was unable to prevent his side losing this friendly match 3-2 at home to Belgium.

Chadi Riad was an unused substitute as Morocco and Peru drew 0-0 in the friendly in Madrid.

Arnau Tenas played the full 90 minutes in goal as the Spain U21 side drew 0-0 in their friendly match away to France U21s. 

Victor Barberà, Ilias Akhomach, Ángel Alarcón, Arnau Casas and Dani Rodríguez all started for Spain U19s as they beat Ukraine U19s 4-0, Barberà grabbing a goal and an assist, with Rodríguez and Alarcón also netting.

Five games today with Barça players involved. Spain U21s take on France in a friendly against France U21s in Cannes, kick off at 6pm CEST with Arnau Tenas potentially involved. Marc ter Stegen's Germany side have a friendly against Belgium in Cologne, kick off 8.45pm CEST and at the same time Spain take on Scotland in Glasgow in their Euro 2024 qualifier with Gavi and Balde in the squad. 

In African Nations Cup qualifying, Franck Kessie is on duty with Ivory Coast in their game away at Comoros, kick off 9pm CEST, and at 9.30pm CEST there is the chance for Barça Atlètic's Chadi Riad to make his debut for the Moroccan national side in their friendly against Peru to be played in Madrid. 

Monday, 27 March

Robert Lewandowski played all 90 minutes in Poland's 1-0 win at home against Albania whilst Jules Kounde came on as an 81st minute substitute in France's 1-0 away win in the Republic of Ireland. 

Sunday, 26 March

Andreas Christensen could have been in action for Denmark against Kazakhstan, but he has been forced to pull out through injury.

It means that there are no games with Barça players this Sunday.

Saturday, 25 March

Alejandro Balde played all 90 minutes of Spain's 3-0 win over Norway in Málaga with fellow blaugrana Gavi also appearing in the starting XI and playing 58 minutes. A goal from former Barça man Dani Olmo and two from Joselu handed coach Luis de la Fuente a victory in the Euro 2024 qualifier, his first game as national team coach. 

Goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen played all 90 minutes of Germany's 2-0 win over Peru in a friendly in Mainz with Niclas Fullkrug scoring both goals for the home side. 

Ángel Alarcón grabbed a brace and Victor Barberà scored another for their Spain U19 side as they won 4-0 against Luxembourg to go top of the group. Ilias Akhomach, Arnau Casas and Dani Rodríguez all started the match too.


Quite a few Barça players could feature for their countries today. There is a European Championship Group A qualifier for Spain at home to Norway, in which Gavi and Alejandro Balde will be hoping to help the side to a win to get the campaign off to the best possible start (8.45pm CET).

As Germany are hosting Euro 2024, they don't play any qualifying games, but Ter Stegen has a good chance of starting for Germany at home to Peru in today's friendly match (8.45pm CET)

Chadi Riad will be hoping to celebrate his call up to the Morocco senior team with a debut today in the friendly against number 1 FIFA ranked team Brazil (11.00pm CET)

Lastly, Victor Barberà, Ilias Akhomach, Ángel Alarcón, Arnau Casas and Dani Rodríguez may again line up for Spain in the U19 UEFA European Championship 2023, Elite Round Group 3 qualifier at home to Luxembourg (6.00pm CET)

Friday, 24 March

Arnau Tenas was on the bench for the Spain U21 team's 3-2 defeat of Switzerland in a friendly.

France and Jules Kounde produced an emphatic victory over the Netherlands, without the injured Frenkie de Jong, with the Barça defender playing all 90 minutes.

Not a good night for Robert Lewandowski as Poland crumbled to 3-1 defeat to their neighbours in the Czech Republic.

Franck Kessie and the Ivory Coast have defeated the Comoros 3-1 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier. The Barça star played all 90 minutes. His team go top of the group with seven points, one more than second placed Zambia. They will face the Comoros again on Tuesday, this time away, in a 2pm CET kick-off.

There are two Euro 2024 qualifying games today featuring Barça players, both kicking off at 8.45pm CET. France and Jules Kounde start their campaign by entertaining the Netherlands, who are without Frenkie de Jong who had to return to Barcelona with a hamstring problem.

Meanwhile Robert Lewandowski's Poland are in the Czech Republic.

Thursday, 23 March

Andreas Christensen started against Finland, playing the first 18 minutes before being substituted. Denmark went on to win the Euro 2024 qualifying game at the Parken Stadium in Copenhague 3-1.


Wednesday, 22 March

Alpha Dionkou started for Senegal in the 3-1 win over Mali in an U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Ángel Alarcón, Víctor Barberà, Ilias Akhomach, Arnau Casas and Dani Rodríguez all started for Spain as they drew 0-0 away to Denmark in this U19 European Championship qualifier.
