The first game of 2023 at Spotify Camp Nou is going to be all the more special due to pre-game tributes both to the victory in the Spanish Super Cup and the 700th appearances made by Sergio Busquets. The stadium will also be marking the start of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit.
This is the first game in front of the home fans since Barça won the first silverware of the Xavi Hernández era, all thanks to the 3-2 defeat of Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia.
Sergio Busquets lifted the cup on the day of his 700th appearance, becoming only the third Barça player to ever reach such a massive tally. President Joan Laporta will be there on Sunday to present the captain with a commemorative shirt shortly before the game with Getafe.
It's sure to be an emotional moment, with a special video being shown on the stadium screens.
January 22 is the start of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit, and that won't be forgotten at Spotify Camp Nou. The Penya Blaugrana Dracs Units, founded by members of the Chinese community in Catalonia, will be on hand to entertain the crowd with a traditional dragon dance.
There will also be music from Uri Mora, Cesc Sansalvadó, Tropical Galaxia and Daka & Toma, as well as a Chinese writing workshop outside the ground.
The team will also be coming out for the game with their names written in Chinese on their backs, joined by children from the aforesaid supporters group. Indeed, the build-up to this game is going to be a very special one!
