Gavi made his 50th league appearance in the 1-0 win at Atlético Madrid on Sunday night, and in doing to becomes the youngest Barça player ever to reach that figure and the second youngest in the whole league since the turn of the century. Only Iker Muniain was younger when he completed his first half-century.
Gavi was just 18 years and 156 days old, just 21 days younger than the Athletic Club star. Other players in the top ten include Bojan, Messi and Ansu Fati of Barça, plus the likes of Oyarzabal, Fernando Torres, Laporte, Meré and Musah.
Gavi is the outright leader when it comes to Barça players. The previous leader was Bojan, who was 18 years, 7 months and 25 days old when he reached the milestone. Ansu Fati is third, having been 19 years, 11 months and 16 days old when he played his 50th league game.
Gavi, who was one of the standout players at the Metropolitano, has played in all 16 league fixtures that Barça has played so far this season, and on eleven of those occasions he was in the starting line-up.
