Lewandowski and Aspas, face to face
First and third top scorers in La Liga will be taking each other on in Sunday's game
This Sunday's game at Spotify Camp Nou between Barça and Celta is attractive for many reasons, and one of those is the presence of two of the top marksmen in the league so far: Robert Lewandowski and Iago Aspas.
The duo are first and third in the rankings this season, the Pole with nine goals and Aspas with five. Borja Iglesias of Real Betis is the man in between with six.
The Celta striker finished third in the Pichichi table last season with 17 goals, and in 2022/23 he is continuing his love affair with the back of the net.
Lewandowski is no stranger to goals either. Last season at Bayern Munich he scored 35 in the Bundesliga.
Off the radar
Aspas (555) and Lewandowski (539') have both played roughly the same amount of time in the league so far. The Pole has only needed 19 shots to get his nine goals, 16 with his right foot, two with the left and one with his head. But his amazing ability to read the game means he has also been providing assists.
Aspas has only shot seven times, and yet he has found the net five times. Six of these were off his stronger left foot and the other with the right. With his own ability to conjure up assists as well, we are in for a real treat on Sunday at 9pm CEST.
