Ter Stegen sets personal best for going unbeaten in La Liga

Another clean sheet, this time in Mallorca, means the German stopper breaks 500 minutes without conceding a league goal

The 2022/23 season is turning out to be one of the best ever for German keeper Ter Stegen. His spectacular form is reflected in the fact that Barça have conceded just one goal in the first seven games, and the man between the sticks has set a new personal best for minutes survived without once having to pick the ball out from the back of the net.

He needed to get unscathed through the first 56 minutes of the game in Mallorca to do so, and with a remarkable point-blank save to deny Jaume Costa included, her did just that.

Alexsander Isak, in the sixth minute of the game with Real Sociedad, is the only player to have netted against Barça this season. Since then, Ter Stegen has kept a clean sheet against all of Real Valladolid, Sevilla, Cádiz, Elche and now Mallorca. Both his previous records for successive clean sheets and minutes unbeaten dated back to the 2019/20 season.
