Barça's goal machine and the former prolific Ukrainian striker meet in a show of solidarity for the people of Ukraine

Two goalscorers getting together for a good cause. Andriy Shevchenko and Robert Lewandowski met in Warsaw to send a message of solidarity during the war to the people of Ukraine in the form of a captain's armband. "I am going to wear Ukraine's colours at the Qatar World Cup", promised the Barça forward to the very patriotic former AC Milan and Chelsea striker.

The two strikers got together at the Poland national team training camp to send out a message for peace. "As both a player and a man, I support peace and I think these symbolic gestures are important", stated the Barça number 9. Lewy continued to send his warmth to the people of Ukraine by adding, "I will wear Shevchenko's armband at the World Cup in November as a reminder that the people of Ukraine are not alone and remain in our thoughts. Being here with Andriy means a lot to me".

The former Ukraine forward also had some words of appreciation for the Polish striker. "I want to thank Robert Lewandowski for this act of solidarity and for all his work on behalf of my country", he stated. A special meeting of two of the best goalscorers in modern football, together for a good cause.
