Bellerín: 'I always thought I'd be back'

Defender unveiled as a new FC Barcelona player at the Ciutat Esportiva on Tuesday

FC Barcelona has a new right back. Héctor Bellerín was officially presented on Tuesday in the company of president Joan Laporta. Originally a resident at La Masia, he admitted that he always had the feeling that he'd be back here one day, saying "I'm very excited to wear the blaugrana jersey with the first team. It's been one of my dreams ever since I was a little kid."

Laporta added that “we have signed a player with a lot of football talent. He is a player that Xavi Hernández asked us for. The football department has worked hard to make this signing happen.”

Dream come true

Bellerín has been repeatedly comparing what's happening to him right now to a dream. "I am very excited" he says. "I wore this shirt for many years. When you are young and in the youth system, it's the only thing you think about. I am so grateful to the club.”

"The rest of the squad are very nice people. I have settled in perfectly. We are going to create some very nice moments together."

Busy times

Before his official presentation, the now former Arsenal player joined the training session ahead of the Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen tomorrow at the Spotify Camp Nou.

He then returned to the Tito Vilanova field for the public signing of his new contract and to receive his membership card from the president.

He then performed the traditional series of ball tricks for the cameras and joined players from the Barça Academy for a training exercise.
