Barça have been on outstanding form in La Liga since the year 2022 kicked in. In fact, with 20 of a possible 24 points, which have seen them climb up to third in the table on 48 points, they have a better record than any other team in the championship only counting games from January onwards.
Spectacular stuff
With six wins and two draws, we are 65 days into the year and Barça have yet to experience defeat.
And it’s been a spectacle of attacking football, with Barça netting 19 times, more goals than any other team, but also of tight defending. The mere seven goals conceded including three clean sheets are testimony of that.
Before 2022
Reaching back into 2021, Barça have now gone for 11 league games undefeated. And while away form was the biggest difficulty early on in the campaign, they are now on a run of ten games on the road without a single loss – five wins and five draws.
That’s not forgetting their good start in the Europa League. Three straight wins in La Liga (4-1 at Valencia, 4-0 against Athletic Club and 2-1 at Elche) sandwiched a wonderful 4-2 victory in Naples in between. Things are looking very sweet indeed in the build-up to the next challenge, Galatasaray at Camp Nou on Thursday.
