Against Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday, Frenkie de Jong has made his 100th appearance for FC Barcelona, no mean feat considering it’s only just over two years since he joined the club.

During that time, the Dutchman has become a firmly established part of the midfield, having been a first-choice under each of Ernesto Valverde, Quique Setién and now his compatriot Ronald Koeman.
