8 FC Barcelona players in the semi-finals of Euro 2020 and Copa América
We are now well into the decisive phase of both the Euro 2020 and Copa América tournament and FC Barcelona is one of the clubs best represented in the international competitions. In Europe Eric Garcia, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Pedri form part of the Spain squad in the last four of the competition with Martin Braithwaite also in the semi-finals with the Denmark squad.
In South America Sergio Agüero and Leo Messi are still involved in the Copa América with Argentina as is Emerson Royal with host nation Brazil.
Only Premier League club Manchester City has more representatives in the final stages of the two tournaments with nine. Barça are in second place along with Juventus and Chelsea, all three clubs providing eight players to the nations involved in the semi-finals.
Place in the final at stake
The semi-finals of the two tournament see Emerson's Brazil team take on Peru for a place in the Copa América final, kick off Tuesday at 1.00am CEST. Back in Europe Spain take on Italy for a place in the Euro 2020 final on Tuesday at Wembley in London, kick off 9.00pm CEST.
Messi and 'Kun' Agüero face Colombia in their game in the last four which kicks off in the early hours of Wednesday morning at 3.00am CEST as Argentina seek to reach the final for the fifth time in the last seven editions of the Copa América. Finally, Martin Braithwaite's Denmark face England at Wembley on Wednesday at 9.00pm CEST.
