Ansu Fati and Pedri make history in the Champions League

For the first time in the competition, two under 18 year olds score in the same game

The excellent 5-1 win over Ferencváros in the Champions League has left us with some impressive statistics. One such fact concerns two talented young blaugranes: Ansu Fati and Pedri, who on Tuesday became the first two players under the age of 18 to score in the same Champions League fixture.

A spectacular achievement for the two 17 year olds who will both be 18 in the coming weeks. Two teenagers who are developing rapidly and against Ferencváros showed their potential.

Ansu Fati figured in the starting XI and played a total of 63 minutes before being replaced by Pedri. The Barça number 22 scored the second blaugrana goal and provided Coutinho with a fantastic back heel pass for the third from the Brazilian. The Spanish international became the youngest player to ever score two goals in the Champions League after his goal against Inter Milan last season made him the competition's youngest ever goalscorer.

As for Pedri, he made his long awaited Champions League debut playing 27 minutes, most of which were with Barça down to 10 men after the dismissal of Gerard Piqué. Nevertheless, Pedri was always involved and rounded off a brilliant debut by scoring the fourth goal in the 5-1 win after an excellent run from team mate Dembélé.
