There are just 20 players left in the running to become the young player of the year for 2020
Ansu Fati and Sergiño Dest are both still in the running to be named Golden Boy 2020. The award presented each year by Italian paper Tuttosport is given to the best young player of the year, who in this edition must have been born from the year 2000.
It started with 100 players, but things are now into the fifth round and just twenty players remain. Barça’s Pedri was eliminated in round three, but Ansu Fati (2002, 17 years) and Sergiño Dest (2000, 19 years) are still there. It’s a second year running for Ansu, who finished sixth in 2019.
The twenty finalists are: Mitchel Bakker (PSG, 2000), Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes, 2002), Jonathan David (Lille, 2000), Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich, 2000), Sergiño Dest (FC Barcelona, 2000), Fábio Silva (Wolves, 2002), Ansu Fati (FC Barcelona, 2002), Phil Foden (Manchester City, 2000), Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax, 2002), Mason Greenwood (Manchester United, 2001), Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund, 2000), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea, 2000), Dejan Kulusevski (Juventus, 2000), Rodrygo Goes (Real Madrid, 2001), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal, 2001), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund, 2000), Dominik Szoboszlai (Salzburg, 2000), Sandro Tonali (AC Milan, 2000), Ferran Torres (Manchester City, 2000) and Vinícius Junior (Real Madrid, 2000).
