Friendly against Nàstic on September 12

The first preseason game under Ronald Koeman will be played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff at 7pm

The first game of the 2020/21 preseason will see Barça take on Nàstic de Tarragona on Saturday, September 12. The game against the Segunda B side will be held at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, kicking off at 7pm CEST. Fans around the world can watch the match live and exclusively on club streaming platform Barça TV+.

The stadium will thus host its first game for the senior team, having opened last year as the home ground for Barça B, the Juvenil A side and Barça Women.

An historic derby

Barça vs. Nàstic is a Catalan derby with plenty of history, although the two teams have not met in official competition since Nàstic's last LaLiga campaign in 2006/07.

The first encounter between them was in the Copa quarter-finals in 1946/47, with Nàstic going through to the semifinals. Since then, the duels have been exclusive to the Primera División; Barça have won 8 times and drawn twice. In the aforementioned meeting on June 17, 2007, the Blaugrana won 1-5 against an already-relegated Nàstic.

LaLiga campaign to get underway on September 27

The first friendly game of 2020/21 comes two weeks before the LaLiga opener against Villarreal at the Camp Nou, on the weekend of September 26-27. Their participation has been delayed due to their competing in the UEFA Champions League this summer.
