Riqui Puig rewrites the record books

Against Alavés the midfielder became the youngest player to provide two assists since 2011

The big win over Alavés contained several pieces of good news for the blaugranes. Leo Messi claimed a seventh 'pichichi' title with his 25 La Liga goals for the season, Semedo scored his first goal of the season - 18 different Barça players scored in the 2019/20 campaign - Messi created his 21st assist of the season (a new record) and Riqui Puig provided assists for Messi and Semedo to set another new record.

The talented midfielder became the youngest Barça player (20 years and 341 days) to provide two assists in La Liga since 2011 when at 20 years and 140 days, Thiago Alcántara achieved that feat in a game against Villarreal.

Thiago's assists created goals for Alexis Sánchez and Leo Messi in a 5-0 win for Barça against the 'Yellow Submarine' whilst Riqui Puig also created a goal for Leo and Nélson Semedo in the 5-0 win against Alavés in Mendizorroza.

Riqui Pugi played all 90 minutes on Sunday in Vitoria and put in an excellent performance, cracking a shot himself off the crossbar in the early minutes before creating two goals for his team mates. The young midfielder made 11 appearance in the league, five in the starting XI as he continues to grow with the first team.
