Luis Suárez: 'I'm working every day on my recovery'

In an interview with RAC1, the Uruguayan forward spoke about various topics

Luis Suárez is still recovering from the surgery he had to undergo to overcome an injury to the external meniscus of his right knee. The Uruguayan, however, is optimistic and told RAC1 that his recovery is on track. In fact, he hopes to be back quicker than the initial four month estimate, and emphasised that "I'm working every day on my recovery."

Aside from that, the Barça striker also talked about other topical issues, such as El Clásico and the signing of Martin Braithwaite.

About the injury

"It's difficult to be in this situation, you have to be very strong psychologically, but from the beginning I was prepared. It was the best thing I could do as I was very tired."

"During the operation, the doctor saw that my injury was a little worse than expected. When he told me four months out, I was shocked because I didn't expect it, but immediately I started working on my recovery. I want to show that I can be back in less than four months, and when I watch the team play I want to get back and playing."

The Bernabéu Clásico

"The more Madrid are criticised, the more they knew how to respond. The Clásico is a great match for them to answer in the best way. But they know the team that will be in front of them and we know how to beat them, more so at the Bernabeu."

"In a fortnight, everything can change. Football changes constantly but we are used to living with it. On Sunday we can get a good result but it would not be definitive."

Braithwaite's signing

"Martin will surprise people. He has a good start with the team and he was the best player at Leganés. Now, with the players here, he will show his full potential as he did the other day."

About his link to Barça

"I am very happy here and my family are too. I am at the club I have always wanted to be at and I feel useful to the team. The club knows my willingness to renew and I want to continue."

"I will always be grateful to Barça. They wanted to sign me despite everything that happened with Chiellini at the World Cup, and I will always be grateful to them."
