Griezmann to wear number 17 shirt
The new FC Barcelona signing will be the third Frenchman to use the no.17, following in the footsteps of Emmanuel Petit and Philippe Christanval
Antoine Griezmann will wear the number 17 shirt for FC Barcelona, which had previously been used in the second half of 2018/19 by Jeison Murillo in his loan spell at the club.
Since the introduction of fixed shirt numbers in the 1995/96 season, a total of 13 players have used the no.17 at the club. They are: Amunike, Celades (in European competition in 1997/98), Bogarde, Petit, Christanval, Mendieta, Van Bommel, Giovani dos Santos, Pedro, Song, Munir, Alcácer and Murillo.
Griezmann will thus become the third French player to take on the number, after Emmanuel Petit (2001/01) and Philippe Christanval (2001/02).
