Barça’s U19A team have been crowned UEFA Youth League champions after defeating Trabzonspor 4-1 in Nyon, lifting the trophy for the third time in their history. Seven long years had passed since the blaugrana ribbons last adorned the Lennart Johansson Trophy, but noow, the Swiss city is painted in Barça’s glory, as Juliano Belletti’s side completes a historic treble—Copa, Liga, and Youth League. Another triumph for La Masia.
The only sad thing about the win was that so many fans back in Barcelona and all around Spain were unable to see it happen because of the power cut that drove the country to chaos.
Record breakers
Belletti, the hero of Paris 2006 has led the youth team A back to the pinnacle of European football. Seven years had gone by since their last triumph in the 2017/18 season. This time, it was the turn of players like Yaakobishvili, Xavi Espart, Andrés Cuenca, Landry, Quim Junyent, Jan Virgili, Arnau Pradas, Hugo Alba, and Diarra to etch their names into continental glory, turning Nyon into an idyllic sea of Blaugrana confetti.
2013/14, 2017/18, and now 2024/25. The Colovray Sports Centre has been conquered by FC Barcelona for the third time—a record no other club in Youth League history can match. With this victory, Barça stands alone at the top of the competition’s honors list, surpassing Chelsea’s two titles.
The journey began in the inaugural 2013/14 edition, when Munir El Haddadi’s brace and Tarín’s contribution secured Barça’s place in Nyon’s storied history. Players like Ondoa, Riera, Godswill, Quintillá, Ortega, Enguene, Kaptoum, El Ouriachi, and Adama Traoré became the first to bring this trophy home.
Four years later, a new generation—featuring Iñaki Peña, Mingueza, Carles Pérez, Riqui Puig, Alex Collado, Abel Ruiz, and Juan Miranda—reclaimed the title in 2017/18. And now, in 2024/25, the cycle of greatness continues.
Three out of three
Juliano Belletti’s squad has sailed through a season of pure success, securing a historic treble: Copa, Liga, and now the Youth League. This latest triumph belongs to the entire squad—Áron Yaakobishvili, Max Bonfill, Diego Kochen, Eder Aller, Landry Farré, Andrés Cuenca, Alexander Walton, Eman Kospo, Xavi Espart, Marcos Parriego, Tomás Marqués, Brian Fariñas, Quim Junyent, Pedro Rodríguez, Arnau Pradas, Diarra, Juan Hernández, Hugo Alba, Jan Virgili, Shane Kluivert, Pedro Fernández, Dani Ferrer, Sama Nomoko, Alexis Olmedo, Oduro, Pedro Soma, and Nil Vicens. Every one of them played their part in this third crown.
In Nyon and in the UEFA Youth League, everything is blaugrana—thanks to another masterpiece from La Masia!
