FC Barcelona have got off to the perfect start in the UEFA Youth League by beating Viktoria Plzen 3-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. There was only really one team in it as the blaugrana look to make up for group stage elimination last season.
Barbera early doors
Barça powered into the game and were already well on top before Víctor Barbera got on the end of a Garrido through ball to open the team’s account in this year’s European adventure.
Viktoria remained pegged back in their own half as the Catalans came lose on several occasions to extending their lead.
The second half was barely under way before Ilias finally doubled the difference.
And ten minutes later, Garrido delivered his second assist of the day, this time for Alarcón, whose powerful strike made extra sure of three points that has never really looked in doubt.
Next up is a trip to Bayern Munich for a 2pm CEST kick-off on September 13.
