mini_F. DE BOER
Anticipation and skill on the ball Frank de Boer was an all-round player who happened to play at the back. Excellent both defensively and in attack, the Dutchman was known for his anticipation and his skill on the ball. De Boer was a danger from set pieces with his potent shot and his ability in the air.

Frank de Boer came to Barça in the winter transfer market in the 1998/99 season. Coach Louis van Gaal knew the player well from their time together at Ajax and wasted no time in bringing him to the club to strengthen the defence. With one of the best left foots in the world, De Boer had enjoyed spectacular success with the Amsterdam club, the crowning glory being their win in 1995 UEFA Champions League final against Juventus.

After five seasons as a blaugrana in which he won the league title in 1999, De Boer moved on to Turkish club Galatasaray. The defender final hung up his boots in 2005 with Qatari side Al-Rayyan.
