Larsson
Two years of love and great performances

Henrik Larsson was a striker with an amazing goalscoring instinct, capacity to lose his marker and intelligence in the way he moved and handled the ball. Born in Helsingborg (Sweden), he arrived at Barça in 2004 from Glasgow Celtic. For the two seasons dressed in blaugrana he provided some shining performances, playing 62 games and scoring 22 goals. With FC Barcelona he won one Champions League, two Ligas and a Spanish Super Cup.

Full biography:

After 7 seasons at Glasgow Celtic, Henrik Larsson arrived at Barça with a thirst for major titles. Since the centennial year of 1999, the club had been going through a trophy drought. The second season under Frank Rijkaard was about to begin and with Larsson in the side, plus two other great new strikers in Samuel Eto’o and Ludovic Giuly, Barça finally won back the Liga. The 2005 – 06 season would be one of the most remembered of all time. The blaugrana won the Champions League in Paris with Larsson playing a key role as he came on after 61 minutes as a substitute for Van Bommel. Two weeks earlier the team had also secured the Liga title away to Celta. A perfect season for saying farewell to Barça, following which Larsson signed for Manchester United.
