A jewel of a left back

Fernando Navarro joined the FC Barcelona youth system in July of 1993 from Club de Futbol Trajana. After a spell with Barça B, he made his first team debut for the blaugranes on 6 October 2001 in a game against Deportivo La Coriña in the Riazor Stadium. After three seasons with Barça and one on loan at Albacete, he signed for Mallorca before ending his career with the side against whom he had made his first appearance in  Barça shirt, Deportivo La Coruña.

In the season of his debut for Barça 2001/02, Fernando Navarro made three appearances for the blaugranes in the league and one in the Copa del Rey against Figueres.

The following season he established himself as first choice left back before a serious knee injury in a game against Sevilla in December 2002 at Camp Nou put him out of action for almost a year. After his return to the first team in January 2004 he left for a spell on loan at Albacete. In 2004/05 he helped Barça claim the league title, making 23 appearances before leaving to sign for Mallorca. He later joined Sevilla and then Deportivo before retiring in 2018.
