FC Barcelona agrees to keep the left-back for at least three more years

FC Barcelona and the player Jofre Torrents have reached an agreement to extend the left-back’s contract for three more seasons, keeping him tied to the club until 30 June 2028.

The signing ceremony was attended by the board member in charge of Youth Football, Joan Soler, and the director of Youth Football, José Ramón Alexanko.

Eight years at Barça

Jofre Torrents, born on 28 January 2007, joined Barça in the summer of 2017 from b. He arrived as an U12 and steadily climbed the ranks, developing into an up-and-down wide player.

He is now in the U19 squad, playing 12 league matches, five UEFA Youth League games and one Copa del Rey tie under coach Juliano Belletti, and has already made his debut for Barça Atlètic this season.

A muscle injury sidelined him for almost two months, but once recovered he joined Barça Atlètic’s daily routine. He made his debut for the reserves on 15 March, starting the 1-1 draw against Tarazona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Since then, Jofre has been the first-choice left-back for Sergi Milà, starting all six matches played to date.

With this renewal, Barça secures the services of a left-back who combines defensive solidity with strong attacking forays, thanks to his physical power.
