Barça Atlètic missed out on victory against Gimnástica Segoviana at the Estadi Johan Cruyff Stadium this Saturday, and that was despite leading 2-0 at halftime with goals from Guillermo and Toni Fernández.
The visitors mounted a comeback in the second half to snatch a 2-2 draw, a result that extends Barça Atlètic’s winless streak to six games, leaving them in the relegation zone.
Guillermo opened the scoring early after a sweet team move, while Toni Fernández doubled the lead with a long-range strike. The visitors started to threaten before the break but failed to capitalize, but in the second half the fateful goals did come.
De La Mata narrowed the gap to one after 63 minutes following a corner and a mad series of rebounds. And Juan Silva tapped home a second to level up the score on 75. Barça Atlètic pressed long and hard for a late winner but couldn’t break the deadlock.
Their next match is away to Zamora on Saturday 15 February at 5.30pm CET, with Barça more desperate than ever to get three points on the board.
