Eldense 2-2 Barça Atlètic: Comeback to remain unbeaten

The blaugranes were 2-0 down against the side in second place in the table but a fightback in the second half means they have gone 13 games without defeat

Barça Atlètic salvaged a well deserved point in the Nuevo Pepico Amat away at second placed Eldense in game in which they had to fight back from 2-0 down at half time.

A brave second half performance saw Rafa Márquez's side claw back the deficit and the blaugranes are in third place in their group in the Primera RFEF, well placed to secure a play off place with just three games of the season remaining.

Eldense take the lead

The first half saw both sides show ambition with Barça going close early on when Estanis blazed a shot over the bar. However, on the half hour mark, it was Eldense who struck first, Soberón striking a well placed effort to make it 1-0.

Worse was to come for Rafa Márquez's team before the break. Right on the stroke of half time Eldense's Cris Montes doubled the home side's lead as they caught Barça out on the counter attack.

Barça never gave up

After the break, Barça Atlétic showed their mental strength as they came back from the blow of conceding a second just before half time. Roberto headed an effort off the crossbar before pulling one back on the hour mark, latching on to a loose ball in the Eldense box.

The game took on a different complexion from that moment and it came as no surprise as Luismi Cruz made it 2-2 on 66 minutes. Just a minute later Cruz was replaced by Lamine Yamal, the 15 year old who had made his first team debut just last week. The teenager became the youngest player ever to play for Barça Atlètic, setting another record in his short career.

Dionkou came close to winning it for Barça with a late effort but the blaugranes still took a valuable point with a performance that showed their team spirit.
