A very tough game ended with Barça defeating Nàstic 1-0 in the Catalan derby, Chadi Riad heading in the only goal of the game from a corner. That's now five unbeaten and into the play-off positions as it stands, as well as a first win against the side from Tarragona since 2020.
Control but no goals
The game began very evenly but Barça took control of the game without getting that vital first goal. Carbonell had a good free kick chance that went over the bar, before Nàstic replied with a long shot saved by Arnau Tenas. The keeper then sent Roberto through with five minutes to go, but his shot was off target. Halftime score 0-0.
Header seals the points
Barça came out on fire after the break, Estanis and Juanda both going close during the same play. However, it wasn't long before Moha swung in a corner that Chadi Riad headed in at the far post, 1-0 after 53 minutes. It was just a question of managing the game to seal the win, a task made easier by Trilles from Nàstic being sent off for a strong tackle on Victor Barberà. Final score, 1-0.
