Splendid example of fair play at La Masia
U12A team deliberately allows opposition Atlètic Sant Just to score a goal as compensation after realising they had unfairly scored a goal of their own
This weekend brought a goal that proves how players at La Masia are taught the right football values from a very young age. In the 36th minute of the U12A team’s game with Atlètic Sant Just on pitch number 8 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, the blaugrana were winning 5-0 and added a sixth while an opposing player was on the ground.
The side coached by Jordi Pérez then allowed the visiting team to score a goal in return in a clear indication of sportsmanship, respect and humility, three of the key values that are driven home at La Masia, where people are taught to be both decent footballers and decent human beings.
