FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol with the Grand Départ for the 2026 Tour de France
The two clubs from Barcelona show their support for the famous cycling event which will begin this year with three stages in Catalonia
Football and cycling came together on Saturday at the Spotify Camp Nou with Barça and Espanyol showing their support for the Grand Départ for the 2026 Tour de France which will take place in Barcelona on 4 July, with two subsequent stages to come also in Catalonia.
Before kick off in the Catalan derby, both teams had their photograph taken with a commemorative placard, and at half time in the directors' box with assorted figures with the official Tour de France yellow jersey and promotional material.
The start of the Tour de France 2026 in Barcelona will mean the eyes of the cycling world are on Catalonia with stages also beginning in Tarragona and Granollers with the race in total crossing some 63 Catalan municipalities.
