On Friday 28 November, the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, took part in the ceremony to re-inaugurate the sculpture ‘Gol’. The piece, which has been restored and repositioned, was created by the Andorran artist and gallery owner Pilar Riberaygua (1953-2002) to commemorate the First International Meeting of Barça Supporters’ Clubs. It is located at the Joan Samarra Stadium, the former Comunal of Andorra la Vella, where Barça’s first team held several pre-season training camps during the 1980s.

President Laporta was accompanied by directors Miquel Camps and Josep Ignasi Macià, and members of the presidential cabinet Enric Masip and Jordi Finestres. Also present at this emotional event were the mayor of Andorra la Vella, Sergi González, and the president of the Penya Blaugrana of the Principality of Andorra, Eduard Ribó.

In his speech, Joan Laporta highlighted the connection between Barça and Andorra: "with the more than 800 members who live in the Principality, and with the drive of the supporters’ club since Sant Jordi Day in 1961." The president offered warm words to Pilar Riberaygua’s family and noted that FC Barcelona is "an institution that tomorrow will turn 126 years old and has always been guided by two fundamental traits: memory and generosity."

After the re-inauguration of ‘Gol’, the president was received at the Andorra municipal offices by the senior and junior mayors. Also on Monday, President Laporta will attend the presentation of the book 'Principat blaugrana: un país amb sentiment culer', by Àlex Terés, a member of FC Barcelona's Social Commission.
