Barça 2025/26 is taking shape in every sense, and we now know what fans will be wearing for a season that promises to be even more exciting than the last, one that ended with two major domestic trebles for both the men’s and women’s first teams. And now, with the new home shirt revealed to the world, it’s time to take a closer look at what is truly a perfect blend.
Stripes: tradition. Blur: modernity
While bringing back the traditional vertical stripes that have accompanied the club for most of its 125 years and now more, the new shirt introduces a blurred effect that conveys speed and modernity. Just like today’s FC Barcelona! This time, the shirt features unmistakably classic vertical stripes, a departure from the half-and-half design of last season and also the original kit worn from 1899 to 1910.
On 16 January 1910, Barça wore vertical stripes for the first time and kept them until 1999, the club’s centenary season, which saw the return of the halved design. In the 21st century, and especially in the last decade, modern updates have been introduced to the shirts. Apart from isolated experiments like the horizontal stripes of 2015/16, the checked design of 2019/20, or the mix of stripes and the Cross of Saint George in 2021/22, vertical stripes have remained dominant. And they’ll be back next season, underlining the importance of tradition to a club like Barça.

Modern, bold and irreverent
While FC Barcelona never forgets its roots, it also embraces modernity, represented in the new shirt by the blurred effect that intertwines the various stripes. This effect, also seen in the 2012/13 season, gives an impression of movement, speed and freshness. And that’s exactly what today’s Barça players embody, including the irreverence of Lamine Yamal and Clàudia Pina, the flashes of brilliance from Raphinha and Caroline Graham Hansen.
A bold, dominant and uninhibited Barça that is admired across the globe. And a Barça that also has a kit that perfectly reflects who they are.
