Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal win Golden Boy 2023 awards

Aitana wins Golden Player Woman award and Lamine becomes first ever recipient of The Youngest prize

FC Barcelona just can stop winning individual honours, and we have two more today. Aitana Bonmatí has added to her already sparkling collection of prizes by being named the Golden Player Woman of 2023, while Lamine Yamal picked the new The Youngest award in the Golden Boy 2023 awards given by Italian paperTuttosport.

Aitana tops the world

The recent Ballon d'Or winner is now also a Golden Player, in yet another recognition of her as the greatest female footballer on the planet, following on from Alexia Putellas, winner of the last two editions.

Another prize for Lamine

And Lamine Yamal gets a brand new prize this year called The Youngest 2023, which honours his position as the youngest player ever to appear on the podium Golden Boy podium, for which any player under the age of 21 is a potential candidate.

Lamine is still only 16, so will have four further chances to top the podium, and as Tuttosport itself says, that would appear practically inevitable for such a young and extraordinary talent. If he does so, he'd be following in the footsteps of previous Barça winners Leo Messi (2004), Pedri (2021) and Gavi (2022).
