FC Barcelona and Prime Video launch second season of documentary series 'FC Barcelona, A New Era'

Produced by Wakai in association with Barça Studios, the latest instalment features four episodes based around the rebuilding of the first team at the start of last season and the road towards a victorious campaign

FC Barcelona and Prime Video are pleased to announce the second season of ‘FC Barcelona, A New Era’, the documentary series that portrays all the challenges the team has had to deal with this season from a fly-on-the-wall perspective. Produced by Wakai in association with Barça Studios, it is based around the rebuilding of the first team at the start of last season and the road towards a victorious campaign, with brand new footage of Xavi and his team going about their daily business throughout the 2022/23 season.

The second season again focuses on some of the key matches of the campaign, including unexpected defeats, painful injuries, big farewells and all the pressure of representing such a powerful media brand as FC Barcelona. It also focuses on some of the young talent that has broken through this year, the fans streaming back to Spotify Camp Nou and the new hope surrounding a team that has recovered its famous style. FC Barcelona has returned to the peak of world football, winning the Spanish Super Cup and Liga titles.

The players and coaching staff all play a central role in the programme, most especially the coach, while some of the players post shining performances off the pitch as much as they do on it. It basically follows on from the five-episode first season, which premiered in December 2022 and covered Xavi's return to the club, and was such a massive success with the audience.

The second season of ‘FC Barcelona, A New Era’ will be available in more than 240 countries and regions all around the world on Prime Video. The exact release date will be announced shortly.
