FC Barcelona implements the 'Safety and Control Protocol for opposition fans' for the game against Manchester United

The measures state that the fans of the English team can only be present in the designated section for opposition fans, and ticketless fans are advised not to travel for the game

The first leg round of 32 Europa League game between FC Barcelona and Manchester United at the Spotify Camp Nou (kick-off 6.45pm CET) will activate the strict safety and ticket control measures established by the board of directors for all the high-risk games, particularly regarding ticket sales and opposition fans’ presence in the stadium.

Accordingly, ticketless opposition fans, in this case from the English team, Manchester United, are advised not to travel to the Spotify Camp Nou, as no tickets will be available for purchase. Only Manchester United fans with a ticket in the away section obtained through their club will be allowed entry for the game.

The heightened measures for what is considered a high risk game are as follows:

  • Tickets are named.
  • Manchester United fans can only be in the zone allocated to opposition fans.
  • Sales in opposition fan countries using bank cards or IP addresses from that country have been blocked.
  • A message in the website while tickets were on sale stating that sales to opposition fans are banned.
  • Wearing any items or clothing identifying FC Barcelona’s opponent is banned outside of the specific away fan zone.
  • Carry documentation ready to be shown if required (ticket and passport/ID card).
  • Gate 21 is to be used for visiting fans only.
  • No tickets are on sale at the Spotify Camp Nou ticket offices.
  • Ticketless Manchester United should avoid travelling for the game as they will not be able to buy tickets from the ticket offices.
  • Tour operators are also prohibited from selling tickets to opposition fans.

Recommendations for all members and fans

The Club recommends all match-goers arrive in plenty of time with all their documents ready for presentation on request by any Club or security staff at the gates. The stadium will open two hours prior to kick-off for opposition fans, who are to use gate 21 for entry one and a half hours before the rest of the fans.
