Ansu Fati stars in third episode of Made in La Masia

On Saturday 16 April, Barça TV + launches documentary produced by Barça Studios that looks back at the many years that the young striker has spent at the club

Ansu Fati features in the third episode of the series Made in La Masia, which goes out on Barça TV+ this Saturday 16 April. The collection of documentaries produced by Barça Studios, the FC Barcelona audio-visual factory, looks back at the lives of players that debuted for the senior team after long periods in the club’s famous youth system. Like the two previous episodes, which were on Riqui Puig and Òscar Mingueza, this report sits Ansu Fati before a screen for 30 minutes, where instead of being observed by millions, he instead becomes the observer and narrates his own life history.

The 34 minute documentary directed by Quirze Arenas, looks back at the origins of the superstar striker who was born in Guinea-Bissau, following him through the blaugrana academy and into the first team. Ansu’s often emotional voiceover reflects on eyewitness accounts from relatives, coaches and team-mates. The guests include his parents Bori Fati and Lourdes Vieira, the coordinator of youth football from 2010 to 2014, Albert Puig; his first coach at La Masia, Marc Serra; the player who grew up alongside him, Eric García; and the coach under whom he made his senior debut, Ernesto Valverde.

This chapter of Made in La Masia dedicated to Ansu Fati is being released just as the player is returning to training after recovering from an injury that means he has seen no competitive football since January.
