How can we help Ukrainian refugees arriving in Catalonia? Many people from within the Barça family have been asking. Barça and its Foundation, in collaboration with the Red Cross, have organised collections of basic products for the babies and young children arriving with their mothers after fleeing the war in Ukraine. On 28, 29 and 30 March and 3 April in particular, match days at Camp Nou, the Club will set up various points where donations can be made so everyone can do their bit to help those families who are suffering.

Welcome and sport and social programmes

The FC Barcelona Foundation is working with the Government of Catalonia so that in the coming weeks it can inform anyone interested about what they can do to host refugee families on a community, family or organisational level.

An awareness programme is being put in place to find places for the thousands of families to stay, numbers which are set to rise in the coming days. This will especially focus on the club’s members, supporters clubs and fans in general.

It is also coordinating all the support that it is receiving from suppliers, sponsors, members, companies and private parties who want to do something to help refugee families.

The FC Barcelona Foundation has extensive experience of working with refugees, and will also be organising a series of social, sporting and educational activities for young Ukrainians being hosted in Catalonia. A team of club members and volunteers is being assembled to carry these actions out, the goal being to provide emotional support and foster physical activity and sport among young people who are suffering from major emotional stress. They will also receive language support so they can use Spanish and Catalan to integrate better while in this situation.
