Alexia and Pedri were the stars of the show before kick off at Camp Nou ahead of Barça v Betis. The captain of the FC Barcelona women's team showed her off recently won Ballon d'Or award to the fans and the midfielder did the same with his Kopa Trophy.
The two blaugranes took the prizes on Monday at a gala in the Théâtre Châtelet in Paris. The awards are given out by France Football magazine and Alexia Putellas made history by becoming the first Barça Women player to be chosen as best player in the world. The evening was rounded off by a seventh Ballon d'Or for Leo Messi and the Kopa Trophy award for best player under 21.
The pre-match event was divided into two parts. After the team had warmed, Pedri came out on to the field at Camp Nou to show off his Kopa Trophy with 1994 Ballon d'Or winner and former FC Barcelona player Hristo Stoichkov making the ceremonial handover.
Following Pedri, the Bulgarian legend Stoichkov presented Alexia with the Ballon d'Or. The Barça Women captain was surrounded by her team mates as she presented a prestigious individual award to the fans after receiving the UEFA awards for Best European player of the year and Best Midfielder in the Champions League for the 2020/21 season back in August.
It was not only the Camp Nou crowd who paid tribute to Alexia Putellas on Saturday. Earlier in the day the Barça Women star received applause from the Estadi Johan Cruyff crowd after showing off her Ballon d'Or award prior to her team's game against Sevilla.
