This weekend, FC Barcelona celebrated a particularly meaningful occasion: the Club’s 126th anniversary, the second match played at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou, and a new victory for the team against Deportivo Alavés. The event, marked by symbolism and institutional projection, filled the presidential box with a diverse and prominent representation of Catalan society and the sporting world.
The day began with an institutional meeting between President Joan Laporta and the delegation of Deportivo Alavés, led by its president, Alfonso Fernández de Trocóniz, together with several members of the board, corporate representatives and staff from the Basque club’s sporting structure. The reception was followed by one of the most emotional moments of the day: the commemorative photograph of the 126th anniversary, which brought together members of the Board of Directors, the coaches and captains of all professional and amateur sections, representatives of youth football and various figures linked to the sporting and institutional history of Barça.
The presidential box also reflected the social and cultural dimension of the celebration. Among the guests were former Club presidents Joan Gaspart and Enric Reyna; institutional representatives such as Senator Eduard Pujol and former Minister Meritxell Borràs; leading communication professionals including Eulàlia Carbonell, director of RAC1, and Joan Alegre, head of SER Catalunya; as well as international sports figures such as Nicolás Córdova, manager of the Chile national team, and Nihat Özdemir, owner of Limak. Coaches and captains from the Club’s various sports sections were also present, including Xavier Pascual, Carlos Ortega, Javier Rodríguez, Ricardo Ares, Joel Parra, Dídac Plana and Ignacio Alabart, accompanied by sporting directors such as Deco, Bojan Krkic, Enric Masip and José Ramón Alexanko.
The cultural dimension of the day was highlighted by the presence of several key figures from the Club’s 125th anniversary celebrations, including writers Jordi Puntí and Anna Ballbona, poet Jordi Cornudella, composer Carles Cases and the 125th anniversary commissioner, David Carabén.
