Clyburn inspired

Will Clyburn has already begun to set the tone for the blaugranes after a slow start, Joan Peñarroya’s team took off, igniting the Palau Blaugrana and starting to tint the score in Barça’s favour with eight points from the American. The three-point shot was also one of Barça’s key weapons to close out a strong first quarter with a 28-18 lead. That 10 point advantage faded in the second quarter due to Río Breogán’s surge, which brought the score to 34-33 in the 16th minute. 

Balance defined the next phase of the contest. Punter was inspired in the second quarter and was key to Barça regaining the lead before half-time at 44-41. The momentum continued into the start of the second half, with Barça improving their shooting accuracy, starting with 100% on two-pointers and three-pointers to lead 54-47 on 23 minutes. 

Clyburn and Fall were the driving force in attack and a 2+1 play by Joel Parra gave Barça some breathing room at 67-59 in the 28th minute. Brizuela ended a possible comeback from the visitors in the third quarter to help Barça to a 72-67 lead.

Decisive final quarter

A 14 points lead opened the last three minutes, a more than sufficient margin to steer the game toward a Barça victory, sealed with a final push to return to winning ways at the Palau Blaugrana with a 100-85 victory over the Galicians.
