Juan Núñez underwent an arthroscopic review of his right knee this Tuesday. A meniscal cyst was removed, and the meniscal sutures from the first arthroscopy (performed on 11 March) were reinforced. The estimated recovery time is around six months.

After returning to team activity, the player developed an inflammatory reaction in his right knee. The exploratory arthroscopy was carried out at the Hospital de Barcelona by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau, under the supervision of the club’s Medical Services.

Starting over

This injury prevents Núñez from beginning his second season at Barça in full health. In his first year, he played around 50 games: 25 in the EuroLeague (5 points and 7.4 rating) and 20 in the ACB (5.1 points and 7.6 rating), in addition to appearances in the Copa del Rey, the Supercopa, and the Catalan League.

After working hard throughout the summer, the Barça point guard began preseason training with the team and was one of the standout performers in the friendly in Encamp against Paris Basketball. Now he faces the challenge of starting again with a long recovery process.
