Myles Cale is a new FC Barcelona player. Coming from Italian side Trento, he has signed for one season and will strengthen the team’s perimeter play. The Delaware-born shooting guard will wear the number 3 jersey.

The 26-year-old played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates of the Big East Conference, and already has brief experience in European basketball, having played a season and a half in Belgium with Limburg United in the city of Hasselt, and one season with Italy’s Aquila Trento.

Versatile

Cale is a versatile player, with a strong presence in perimeter play and a solid ability to drive to the basket. He is a 2-3 type player, who can also make big contributions on defence thanks to his athleticism.

His stats last season were more than notable across 34 games: 11.3 points per game and 1.9 assists. His three-point shooting percentage (44.2%) and free-throw accuracy (83%) stand out.

Two cups and a EuroCup debut

Though still early in his European basketball career, the new Barça signing already knows what it’s like to win trophies. In Belgium, he won the Cup, and this season in Italy he also lifted silverware, averaging 13.7 points across the three matches played.

This season has also marked his breakthrough on the continental stage, with his EuroCup debut. In the competition, the American averaged 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 18 games. His standout performance came against Joventut, where he bagged 21 points.
