FC Barcelona joined the minute’s silence at 12.00pm CET called by the Catalan Generalitat government and Barcelona’s City Council following the terrorist attack in Barcelona on Thursday evening which killed 14 people and injured more than 100.

The President Josep Maria Bartomeu and the Directors Pau Vilanova and Maria Teixidor represented the Club at the Ramblas alongside prominent figures like King Felipe VI; the Spanish President, Mariano Rajoy; the President of the Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont; and the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, among many others.

Also in the Club offices, the Ciutat Esportiva and the Masia

The Club’s installations also respected the minute’s silence. The Club’s employees came together at their offices to express their hurt and pay tribute to the victims of the attack. The same occurred at the Ciutat Esportiva and the Masia.

All Barça’s teams held a minute’s silence as a recognition of the profound shock the city is going through and as a condemnation of the attack. The handball team did so in Romania prior to their match and the rest of the teams did so prior to starting their training sessions. The players will all wear black armbands in their matches this weekend and the flags are at half-mast at the Camp Nou.
